MOSOLF Auto Terminal Wilhelmshaven officially opened

Wilhelmshaven is the newest of what are now 38 business sites in Europe within the MOSOLF network. Dr Jörg Mosolf is convinced that the potential offered by the port on the river Jade is perfectly clear. “Wilhelmshaven provides ideal conditions for vehicle logistics, both landside and waterside. We’re launching operations by handling used vehicles at the inner port, where we have a strong partner alongside us in the shape of Grimaldi, which is an important RoRo shipping company with global operations.”

Grimaldi, which has a high regard for the business site on the river Jade because of its nautical benefits, is also very happy about the launch of business activities in Wilhelmshaven. “We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers regular shipments from this strong port site in conjunction with MOSOLF from now on,” said Costantino Baldissara, Commercial, Logistics & Operations Director Grimaldi Group, which is based in Naples, Italy, explaining the latest development.

Wilhelmshaven is the launchpad for developing international markets in the fields of vehicle logistics and technical services for the MOSOLF Group in future so that it can deliberately complement its portfolio at German ports. To achieve this, MOSOLF has already invested about EUR 2 million at the site in Wilhelmshaven and is planning to make further investments as part of its future strategic development. The offices of the Wilhelmshaven branch are located at the GVZ (Goods Transport Centre) at JadeWeserPort and the storage business for vehicles from car rental companies is already managed from there.

Dr Jörg Mosolf specifically expressed his gratitude for the constructive support provided at the site, particularly mentioning the town of Wilhelmshaven, Niedersachsen Ports, JadeWeserPort-Marketing, the port authority, the customs service, Rhenus Midgard and many other business partners.

Dr Bernd Althusmann, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Employment, Transport and Digitalisation, also spoke during his visit to the MOSOLF Auto Terminal Wilhelmshaven. “We’re delighted that the port of Wilhelmshaven forms an important part of the MOSOLF Group’s growth strategy. Thanks to its presence in the GVZ and the inner port, where the company is now launching its RoRo handling business, MOSOLF is providing important new impetus for this business site. This once again demonstrates that Wilhelmshaven is really fulfilling its role as a universal port.”
